Уджоу – это небольшой для Китая город с населением 3 млн жителей. Территориально находится на юге Китая, в одном часе езды на поезде от крупного города Гуанжоу. Уджоу считается курортным городом с большим количеством санаторий и мест спокойного отдыха. Местность здесь холмистая, много зелени, воздух очень чистый. Здесь абсолютно нет промышленности, заводов, производства. В выходные дни и на праздники в город приезжает большое количество жителей из Гуанжоу.
Университет и специальности
Университет является государственным. Есть специальности, которые преподаются на китайском и есть специальности, которые преподаются на английском языке. Длительность некоторых специальностей на бакалавриате составляет 4 года, некоторых - 3 года. Крупные факультеты обучения: «экономика», «бизнес и менеджмент», «информационные технологии», «иностранные языки», «туризм», «музыка». Всего в университете 11 факультетов. Нужно отметить, что это один из немногих университетов, имеющих свою лабораторию Майкрософт. То есть здесь ребята, которые учатся на IT специальностях имеют уникальную возможность участвовать в реальных проектах компании Майкрософт.
Кампус университета находится далеко от центра города в очень спокойном тихом районе. Для Китая университет считается достаточно молодым, новый кампус был отстроен примерно 10 лет назад, поэтому все здания на территории – новые. Большое внимание университет уделяет спортивному оснащению. Так, на территории находятся 6 профессиональных теннисных корта. В 2015 году здесь проходил Чемпионат провинции по теннису. Все спортивные площадки здесь бесплатны и всегда открыты для студентов. Стиль постройки кампуса чем-то напоминает европейский. На территории есть все необходимое, включая банки, магазины, почт отделение и мед пункт, который находится в здании общежития.
